Scientific Disclaimer

ChemFitX provides browser-based scientific analysis tools, calculators, visualization functions, educational material, and related research resources.

General Information

The information, calculations, graphs, fitted parameters, predicted values, processed images, reference information, and other outputs produced by ChemFitX are provided for scientific, research, educational, and informational purposes.

Although ChemFitX is developed with the aim of implementing established scientific principles and appropriate analytical methods, no scientific software can guarantee that every output will be correct or appropriate for every experiment, sample, instrument, or research objective.

Scientific Validation Is the User’s Responsibility

Results generated using ChemFitX should be evaluated by the user using appropriate scientific judgment. Analytical results can be influenced by experimental design, instrument condition and calibration, signal-to-noise ratio, sample preparation, input-file formatting, baseline or background treatment, selected fitting range, peak-selection criteria, mathematical assumptions, starting parameters, constraints, reference data, model selection, numerical convergence, software implementation, and user-selected settings.

Users should therefore independently verify important results using appropriate experimental evidence, established literature, reference standards, complementary characterization techniques, or other validated software where necessary.

No Guarantee of Publication-Ready Results

The availability of an analysis, graph, fitted parameter, calculated value, or interpretation through ChemFitX does not mean that the result is automatically suitable for publication.

Scientific journals, universities, research institutions, funding organizations, industrial laboratories, patent authorities, regulatory bodies, and individual reviewers may apply their own requirements regarding methodology, validation, reporting, uncertainty, reproducibility, and software. Users are responsible for determining whether their analysis meets the requirements applicable to their work.

Research and Educational Tool

ChemFitX is intended to support scientific work and scientific education. It is not intended to replace:

  • Qualified scientific judgment.
  • Appropriate instrument calibration.
  • Laboratory quality-control procedures.
  • Certified analytical services or regulatory testing.
  • Professional engineering assessment.
  • Manufacturer-specific analysis software where required.
  • Independent verification of important research conclusions.

Experimental and Analytical Limitations

Scientific models are approximations of physical systems. Different legitimate analytical methods can sometimes produce different numerical results from the same experimental data. A successful numerical fit also does not necessarily prove that the selected physical or chemical model is uniquely correct.

Users should consider goodness-of-fit parameters, residuals, uncertainty, model assumptions, experimental context, complementary characterization, and scientific plausibility when interpreting results. Where ChemFitX provides automated suggestions, estimated parameters, peak assignments, phase information, fitting results, or other algorithm-generated outputs, those results should be reviewed rather than accepted automatically.

Database and Reference Information

Some ChemFitX tools may use, display, accept, compare, or link to information derived from third-party scientific databases, publications, reference datasets, open-source projects, or other external resources. Such information remains subject to the accuracy, licensing conditions, updates, limitations, and terms of the original source.

ChemFitX does not guarantee that third-party reference information is complete, current, error-free, or suitable for a particular research purpose.

Local Processing and Data Privacy

Certain ChemFitX scientific tools are designed to process user-selected experimental files locally within the web browser. Where a tool specifically uses local browser processing, the scientific file is not intentionally transmitted to ChemFitX for storage as part of the normal analysis workflow.

This statement applies to the scientific-analysis file itself and should not be confused with ordinary website communications. Hosting providers, security services, content delivery networks, analytics services, advertising providers, and other website technologies may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, device information, cookies, or request logs as described in the ChemFitX Privacy Policy.

If a user voluntarily sends research data to ChemFitX through email, a contact form, or another communication channel, that information can be accessed for the purpose for which it was submitted.

Availability and Technical Performance

ChemFitX attempts to maintain useful and functional services but does not guarantee that the website or any particular tool will always be available, uninterrupted, compatible with every browser or device, or free from bugs or technical errors.

Tools may be modified, corrected, improved, temporarily unavailable, replaced, or discontinued. Users should retain independent copies of important original data and research results. ChemFitX should not be used as the sole location for storing important scientific information.

No Professional Advice

Content available through ChemFitX does not constitute legal, medical, financial, regulatory, safety, or other professional advice. Any scientific information provided on the website should be interpreted in the context of the user’s own research and professional responsibilities.

External Links

ChemFitX may contain links or references to external websites, scientific databases, publications, software, organizations, or services. These references are provided for convenience or informational purposes. ChemFitX does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their availability, security, accuracy, content, privacy practices, or policies. A link or reference does not necessarily constitute endorsement or affiliation.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChemFitX and its operators, contributors, developers, and associated parties are not responsible for losses, damages, costs, research failures, publication decisions, lost data, lost opportunities, or other consequences arising from reliance on the website, its tools, calculations, interpretations, or outputs.

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

User Responsibility

By using ChemFitX, you acknowledge that you remain responsible for:

  • Checking your input data.
  • Selecting appropriate analytical methods.
  • Evaluating analysis parameters.
  • Reviewing generated outputs.
  • Verifying important scientific conclusions.
  • Maintaining backups of research data.
  • Complying with institutional, journal, funding, regulatory, ethical, and legal requirements applicable to your work.

ChemFitX is intended to assist scientific analysis, not to replace the researcher responsible for interpreting it. If you believe a ChemFitX tool is producing an incorrect scientific result, please report the issue through the Contact page so that it can be investigated.
