Welcome to ChemFitX. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the ChemFitX website, scientific analysis tools, calculators, visualizations, educational content, and related services. By using ChemFitX, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, you should discontinue use of the website.
1. Purpose of ChemFitX
ChemFitX provides online tools and information intended to assist with scientific data analysis, visualization, calculation, education, and research. The platform may include tools related to materials characterization, chemistry, crystallography, spectroscopy, microscopy, electrochemistry, photocatalysis, surface analysis, image analysis, and other scientific fields.
ChemFitX is intended as an analytical and educational resource and does not replace qualified scientific judgment.
2. Eligibility and Acceptable Use
You may use ChemFitX only for lawful purposes. You agree not to use ChemFitX to:

- Infringe intellectual-property rights.

- Interfere with website operation or security.
- Deliberately introduce malware or harmful code.
- Attempt unauthorized access to servers or systems.

Reasonable automated access such as legitimate search-engine indexing may be managed separately according to applicable technical controls.
3. Scientific Results
ChemFitX attempts to implement scientifically meaningful analytical methods, but results depend on input data, parameter selection, model assumptions, numerical methods, and other experimental factors. ChemFitX does not guarantee that:
- Every calculation will be error-free.
- Every model will be appropriate for a user’s experiment.
- Automated fitting will identify the scientifically correct interpretation.
- Generated values will match results from other software.
- Outputs will satisfy publication or regulatory requirements.
- Third-party databases or reference information will always be accurate or current.
Users are responsible for independently evaluating and validating important scientific results.
4. User Data and Scientific Files
Certain ChemFitX tools are designed to process scientific files locally within the user’s browser. For tools using local browser processing, ChemFitX does not intentionally receive or store the scientific file during the normal analysis workflow.
Users retain responsibility for their own scientific data. You represent that you have the necessary rights and authorization to use any data, files, images, or other materials you process using ChemFitX. Additional information is provided in the ChemFitX Privacy Policy.
5. Files Voluntarily Submitted to ChemFitX
If you intentionally send a file, screenshot, dataset, or other material to ChemFitX through email, a contact form, technical-support request, or another communication method, that information may be accessed for the purpose for which you submitted it. Do not voluntarily submit confidential or proprietary material unless you are authorized to share it.
6. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the ChemFitX website design, original written content, branding, original interface elements, and original platform materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party libraries, scientific databases, trademarks, publications, standards, reference datasets, and other external materials remain subject to the rights and licenses of their respective owners.
Use of ChemFitX does not transfer ownership of ChemFitX intellectual property to the user.
7. Your Scientific Data and Results
ChemFitX does not claim ownership of scientific data that belongs to you merely because you analyze it using the website. Subject to third-party rights and the applicable scientific method, outputs generated from your data may be used by you for legitimate research, educational, or professional purposes.
You remain responsible for verifying the accuracy of those outputs and determining whether acknowledgment, citation, software reporting, or methodological disclosure is required by your institution, publisher, journal, funding agency, or other relevant organization.
8. No Requirement for Scientific Endorsement
Use of ChemFitX does not establish a scientific collaboration, consultancy, employment relationship, research partnership, or endorsement between ChemFitX and the user. Unless specifically stated otherwise, ChemFitX does not require users to identify ChemFitX as a co-author or research collaborator.
Researchers remain responsible for complying with journal or institutional requirements concerning disclosure of software and analysis methods.
9. Advertising
ChemFitX may display advertisements supplied by Google or other advertising providers. Advertising helps support operation and development of the platform. The presence of an advertisement does not mean that ChemFitX independently endorses the advertised product, service, company, or claim.
Advertising providers may use cookies and related technologies as described in the ChemFitX Privacy Policy.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
ChemFitX may rely on or link to third-party services, libraries, scientific resources, databases, websites, publications, or software. ChemFitX does not control those external services and is not responsible for their content, continued availability, privacy practices, security, accuracy, licensing conditions, or terms. Users access external services at their own discretion.
11. Availability of Services
ChemFitX may modify, update, add, restrict, suspend, replace, or discontinue any tool or feature. We do not guarantee continuous or uninterrupted availability. Website functionality may be affected by maintenance, software bugs, internet connectivity, browser compatibility, server availability, third-party dependencies, security incidents, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
12. Browser and Device Compatibility
ChemFitX is designed for modern web browsers but cannot guarantee identical functionality across every browser, operating system, screen size, device, extension configuration, or security environment. Users should use supported and updated software where possible.
13. Backups
ChemFitX is not a research-data storage service. Users are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of original experimental data, processed files, exported figures, calculated results, and other important information. Do not rely on ChemFitX, browser storage, session storage, or temporary local storage as the sole copy of important research information.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChemFitX and its services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. ChemFitX makes no guarantee regarding uninterrupted availability, complete accuracy, suitability for a specific scientific application, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or absence of errors.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChemFitX, its operators, developers, contributors, and associated parties will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar losses resulting from use of or inability to use the website. This may include loss of data, research time, publication opportunities, revenue, experimental resources, or reliance on incorrect results.
Where applicable law does not permit certain exclusions or limitations, those exclusions apply only to the extent legally permitted.
16. Responsibility for Misuse
To the extent permitted by applicable law, users are responsible for claims or consequences arising from their unlawful misuse of ChemFitX, infringement of third-party rights, unauthorized use of data, or violation of these Terms.
17. Changes to the Platform
ChemFitX may change its scientific tools, algorithms, equations, default parameters, interfaces, supporting information, data-processing methods, or other functionality as the platform develops. Users preparing reproducible scientific work should maintain appropriate records of the methods, settings, versions, parameters, and dates relevant to their analysis.
18. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be revised periodically to reflect changes in the platform, technology, service providers, business practices, or applicable requirements. The revision date displayed at the top of the page will indicate the latest published version.
Continued use of ChemFitX after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.
20. No Waiver
Failure to enforce a provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other right.
21. Applicable Law
These Terms are subject to the laws applicable to the legal operator of ChemFitX and any mandatory rights available to users under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove consumer or other statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
